Chief Minister Fadnavis said here on Wednesday that continuous electoral defeats may have affected Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s mental balance.

Speaking to media persons here after a cabinet meeting, Fadnavis said, “Continuous defeats must have affected Mallikarjun Kharge’s head. So, he used abusive language against Modi, a patriot who created modern India. This is the same Congress which had called Modi a merchant of death. But, whenever the Congress criticises Modi, the people defeat them in elections. Kharge should withdraw his statement and apologise publicly”.

On Tuesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said at a press conference in Chennai, “How can people who put up Annadurai’s photo go with Modi? He (Modi) is a terrorist. His party does not believe in equality and justice. Going with such people means weakening democracy”.

Kharge’s reference was to the AIADMK putting up Modi’s pictures along with pictures of the late Dravidian movement stalwart and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister CN Annadurai.

Meanwhile, BJP Maharashtra state president Ravindra Chavan launched a strong attack against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. “The whole world looks yellow to a jaundiced person. Those whose rule gave free rein to terrorists now see everyone as terrorists even in the new terror-free India. Kharge Saheb, before blaming others, read the history of Congress, which is adorned with ‘love’ for terrorists!” BJP Maharashtra state president Ravindra Chavan on his X handle.
